Python Roads

Hi. I'm Janean and I've decided to learn Python. More than that, I want to be a developer (or I guess a Software Engineer, that's what they call them now), working on exciting and important things that make me feel like I'm doing something with my life. Ideally, I'd like to get a job in crypto. The world is changing so quickly and I want to be a part of this change.

I'm female and 42. I founded a business called Junes 6 years ago. It's been slow going but I'm proud of what I've accomplished so far but I need a change. I have a great team running the show so I'm able to focus on something different. Before I started Junes, I was a frontend dev in NYC and pretty much loved it, even though I suffered from imposter syndrome the entire time. I ended up as Tech Lead for a digital agency, managing more than coding, and ended up bored and quit. Then a few things happened, I moved back home and started my business.

I don't really like blogging, nor do I particularly like to write about myself or what is happening in the my life. This is very uncharacteristic of me but sometimes you need push out of your comfort zone in order to grow, right??  This is me pushing out of my zone of wonderful comfort.  I'm still undecided this is necessary in order "to grow" but I thought it would be a good and challenging exercise to write about my journey, what I'm learning, and to hold myself accountable for what I'm about to do. I don't know how often I will write here but pretty regularly, I hope (that whole accountability thing). Perhaps I could even inspire someone that it's not too late to change your career, learn something new and feel like a badass in your 40's.

Yay for me.
